Local PGI Tournament Information - Ottawa
Tournament Date: May 22, 2008

Long-time supporter Peter Kindree (second from left) of Peter J. Kindree Architects and his foursome at beautiful Loch March.
The Ottawa PGI Golf Tournament for Literacy, benefiting the Ottawa Community Coalition for Literacy, begins with golfer registration and a lovely lunch served on the patio of Loch March Golf & Country Club, one of Ottawa’s premiere golf courses. An 18-hole round of golf in scramble format follows, with the chance to win an exclusive hole-in-one prize.
After an extremely satisfying day of golf, players and their guests can enjoy cocktails on the patio or in the banquet room and browse through silent and live auction items while listening to wonderful music. Golfers can catch a glimpse of their performance on the course in the professionally-produced golf day video.
Dinner is a superb hot and cold buffet. Then the Master of Ceremonies, J. J. Clarke, presides over an exciting live auction and the presentation of The Co-operators Learner Achievement Award to a learner from one of Ottawa’s adult literacy programs. Numerous donated golf prizes are distributed and the successful silent auction bids are announced.
A special feature of the Ottawa PGI is the tournament poet who shares a poem written especially for the day. All in all, it’s a fun-filled, enjoyable event that also gives participants an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life by supporting adult literacy in Ottawa.
